Laffont and Wilson triumph in first competition in Japan

The first of back-to-back moguls World Cup competitions in Tazawako (JPN) is in the books, with Perrine Laffont (FRA) claiming her first World Cup podium for the ladies and Bradley Wilson (USA) returning from an extended injury layoff to take top spot for the men.

The World Cup snowboard cross test event for the PyeongChang 2018 Olympic Winter Games took place on Saturday at Korea’s Bokwang Phoenix Park resort, with Chloe Trespeuch (FRA) claiming her first World Cup win in the ladies’ event and Nate Holland (USA) returning to the top of the podium after a four-year dry spell in the men’s competition.

The Audi FIS World Cup City Event in Stockholm provided countless fireworks as the top 16 men and ladies’ battled it out on the slalom course on Hammarby hill overlooking the city. In the end, Marcel Hirscher (AUT) and Wendy Holdener (SUI) came away with the crowns, but host Sweden could hold its head high after an excellent performance.

Michael Hayboeck takes second win in Lahti

Michael Hayboeck also won the second individual competition in Lahti. In the competition, which was moved from the large to the normal hill due to the weather situation, the Austrian defied the sometimes difficult wind conditions and took this third win in the World Cup with jumps on 98.5 m and 100 m and 241.4 points.

Liechtenstein's Tina Weirather triumphed in Sunday's super-G race in front of ten thousand cheering fans. With bib 16, the 26-year-old put down a flawless run and set the time to beat in 1:17.73.
