Ski jumping and Nordic combined are one the most popular sports in Perm region. Even in Soviet times several centers have been found here: in Berezniki, Ilyinskoye, Kizil, Kudymkar, Lysva, Perm, Sylva, Khokhlovka, Chaykovskiy.
The first soviet championships took place in Perm region. But recent requirements are too high for these sports objects. For example, the majority of the jumping hills are disassembled. Without due reconstruction they don't comply with modern requirements. Nevertheless, several centers and jumping hills still work. There are currently only five schools that operate in the region.
The situation in Perm region is getting better every year. A new winter sports center in Chaykovskiy is under construction now. An entire range of jumping hills (from 40m up to 120m) is planned to be built in winter sports Federal center of training. They will work all on a 24-hour basis and what is even more important - they will be certified by FIS. Consequently, there will be a possibility to establish different types of competitions, even international competitions. These facts show that the future of Russian ski jumping and Nordic combined is more than optimistic.
