Swedish Royal Family visits Falun 2015 volunteers
More than 1,600 volunteers and officials are supporting the Falun 2015 Organisers to make the FIS Nordic World Ski Championships a true success. On 19th February 2015, the Swedish Royal Family paid a visit to the volunteer centre.
The Swedish royal couple, King Carl XVI Gustaf and Queen Silvia; Crown Princess Victoria, Princess Estelle, and Prince Carl Philip and his fiancée Sophia have all been in Falun to experience the World Championships on-site.
One day after the official opening, the Royals visited the volunteer centre housed in the Lugnetskolan college building, met several volunteers and were given a guided tour by Falun 2015 Volunteer Coordinators Gunilla Back and Maria von Holst. The volunteers come from 30 different countries with non-Swedes making up ten percent of the total.
“What an organisation!” Crown Princess Victoria said after the visit.
