

This year the ski jumping fans again had the chance to vote for their "Athlete of the Year", the "Rising Star of the Year" and the "Coach of the Year" in on online survey.
At the end of an exciting season with a breathtaking final in Planica, the title "Athlet of the Year" went to Peter Prevc. The Slovene, who missed the overall World Cup title only because of less individual wins, won three World Cup competitions last winter and achieved a total of 14 podium results. The 22-year-old from Kranj showed extremely consistent performances and missed the Top 10 only in four of 31 World Cup competitions. in addition he won the Ski Flying World Cup for the second time in a row and in Vikersund he was the first ski jumper in history to fly 250 m.
Second in this vote was the two-time World Champion from Falun and overall World Cup winner Severin Freund of Germany, who took the big crystal globe with nine individual wins last season. Norwegian Anders Fannemel, who set a new world record in Vikersund with 251.5 m, just a day after the Prevc' record jump, followed in third, ahead of veteran Noriaki Kasai of Japan, Norway's Rune Velta and 4-Hills-Tournament winner Stefan Kraft of Austria.

Rune Velta was voted "Rising Star of the Year". The 25-year-old won a medal in all four competitions at the Nordic World Ski Championships in Falun, among them Gold on the normal hill and in the team competition. In the World Cup he achieved a total of four podium results and finished eighth in the overall ranking.
Velta's teammate Johann Andre Forfang, who won Gold in the individual and the team event at the Junior World Championships, was second. Already in his first World Cup season the 19-year-old stood on the podium for the first time when he was third in Vikersund. The third place went to Czech Roman Koudelka, who took his first four wins in the World Cup in the 2014/15 season and established himself among the world's best with the seventh place in the overall World Cup. Markus Eisenbichler came in fourth with his eight Top 10 results last winter.

Also in the category "Coach of the Year" the victory went to Norway. Alexander Stoeckl, whose athletes won Gold in a team competition for Norway for the first time in 22 years, won the vote ahead of Slovenia's Goran Janus and the head coach of the German team, Werner Schuster, who could not only celebrate the overall title of Severin Freund, but also the win in the Nation's Cup. After his first season as head coach of the Austrians, Heinz Kuttin was fourth in this ranking.
