Noens and Grange win “Chrono d’Or” awards
On Tuesday, the French winter sport community gathered in Annecy to celebrate the best skiers of the 2014/15 winter and give out the “Chrono d’Or” awards.
Tuesday, April 7 in Annecy-Le-Vieux, before all the winter sports community gathered on the occasion of receiving the French medalists from the World Championships in skiing and snowboarding, took place the presentation of the “Chrono d’Or” awards.
The awards which were awarded based on the votes fans could cast on the website www.skichrono.com combined to those of an expert Jury.
On the Alpine side of things, slalom specialist Nastasia Noens won in the Alpine Skiing ladies category while slalom World Champion Jean-Baptiste Grange won Alpine Skiing men and the most prestigious award “Champion of Champions”
“I still have the emotion of that particular day and also the feeling that I have had during the race. I still remember the stress, pressure. In 2011, I was a leader and I had to win. There, I had not made good results for a while. It started to drag on but I managed to make THE return,” Grange commented the emotions of winning his most recent World Championships medal.
With only two top 10 finishes this season, Noens might not have had the season she wished for but nevertheless the “Chrono d’Or” awards will serve as a good motivation for the many months of hard training ahead of her.
“I’m glad about the vote, despite my difficult season! I got back to my level and it's nice that people are realizing this. It's been a very tough season mentally, two months of continuous questioning, results which were difficult to digest and knee pain. The results are very mixed but in the end I 'm glad to be back in the top 15 world,” Noens said to Skicrono.com.
