Christoph Bieler decides to end his career
After Mario Stecher, the second veteran in the Austrian team has called it quits. With 20 years of World Cup experience, the 37-year-old has now decided to not continue in the next season. In his career, Bieler won three Olympic and two World Championships medals and had a total of six World Cup victories.

„I have kept all options open until the very last moment. After the World Championships in Falun, I had the first thoughts if it might be better to quit. I always knew as soon as I start thinking about it, the time is right. After a very careful discussion with my family, I now decided to draw a line under my active career. I am very thankful for everything I was able to experience over the years and for all successes I was able to celebrate. I wouldn’t want to miss a second of it and would like to thank all companions, sponsors and the ski association for a great time and the cooperation. I will now focus on my sports management studies and also a job as a coach would be attractive to me in the future“, Bieler said.
