Rudi Huber resigns from Swiss Ski
Last night, after two years as Alpine Director at Swiss Ski, Rudi Huber submitted his resignation. As per Huber’s request, the resignation will be effective immediately.
According to a press release issued by Swiss Ski on Monday morning, the resignation came as a result of the difficulties Huber faced in being broadly accepted at Swiss Ski, an essential requirement for being successful in his role as Alpine Director.
In his two years at Swiss Ski, Huber faced numerous challenges and spent a lot of time and energy trying to gain acceptance, instead of being able to be fully invested in his real work.
During his time at Swiss Ski, Switzerland climbed up the Nations Cup rankings finishing second (2014) and third (2015), after finishing seventh the year before.
Huber also appointed Athletic Manager was created to control and improve the quality of physical training, especially for young athletes. Also, a sport psychology concept was developed and is facing its implementation. Hubert also ensured three additional permanent training slopes for the teams and helped bring back to Switzerland coach Thomas Stauffer.
Swiss Ski expressed their regret in seeing Huber’s four-year contract end after half the time but accepts his decision.
Huber and the Head Coaches have already mostly completed the plans for the upcoming months, therefore Swiss Ski will be able to search for a new Alpine Director without too much pressure.
