Weekend celebrations for Reichelt and Hirscher
The past two weekends were full of celebrations for Hannes Reichelt and Marcel Hirscher who were celebrated by their respective hometowns.
On Saturday, 11th April Reichelt’s hometown Radstadt and its ski club celebrated the Super G World Champion with a huge party. The celebration gathered many important names from the world of sport and politics as well and Reichelt’s numerous friends and fans.
During the celebrations, young athletes read a poem written for Reichelt by his long-term coach and Radstadt Ski-Club president German Bauregger.
The next Saturday, 18th April it was Hirscher’s time to celebrate his four Overall titles. The 4th edition of the Race Fest was organized by the Ski Club Annaberg and Hirscher’s Can club in cooperation with its sponsors.
"To see that the enthusiasm is still so big the fourth time, makes me really happy," Hirscher said. "I'm just very grateful to many people – the guys at Atomic who pushed overtime for material development, my supervisor team, my coaches, my family and my girlfriend Laura. Without their support, without their enthusiasm my successes would not be possible. And without an audience and ski enthusiasts, without you, I would not be standing here today. "
Hirscher has been awarded a wooden bench, to serve as resting spot to recover from the long season behind him and prepare for the upcoming one. Hirscher and his girlfriend also received a trip to Tokyo and balloon ride.
