Kristin Stoermer Steira retires
Norway’s Kristin Stoermer Steira has decided to end her long Cross-Country Skiing career. “I experienced unforgettable moments as a skier. I love Cross-Country Skiing but the time has come to find a new way,” Kristin Stoermer Steira said in a statement.
Steira debuted in the World Cup in 2001. Since then she collected 22 World Cup podiums and finished on the top of the podium 6 times. The biggest moment of her career took place at the Olympic Winter Games in Sochi where he won bronze medal in 30 km Mass Start Free. Additionally she is Olympic Relay gold medallist from 2010 Games. At the World Championships Steira won 8 medals, out of which 3 were gold in the relay.

Steira had to pay dearly for her achievements and struggled a lot with injuries during her career. She missed completely last season and the FIS World Ski Championships in Falun due to an injury.
