Lara Gut joins HEAD
Today HEAD announced a new World Cup Rebel joined the family as Swiss Lara Gut officially joined the most successful brand of ski from the last few years on the World Cup. Lara, a twelve time world cup race winner in downhill (4 wins), super-G (7 wins) and giant slalom (1 win) will use HEAD skis and boots in her pursuit of more World Cup, World Championship and Olympic success.
"HEAD is simply the strongest team in alpine skiing and I am very happy that I can be part of it. I am confident that I have the opportunity to take a step forward with HEAD," explained Gut.
"Lara is a good candidate for World Cup victories and World Cup Globes. It is our aim to achieve this with her. With Lindsey Vonn and Anna Fenninger we have two hot contenders for the overall World Cup. Lara Gut is very strong in three of the main disciplines; in downhill, super-G and giant slalom, she is also very competitive in the combination. She is born in 1991, the youngest candidate for the overall World Cup. With her experience and what it has previously been shown by Lara, she is a strong addition to our team," explained HEAD Racing Director Rainer Salzgeber.
Gut won bronze in the Sochi Olympic downhill and also has three silver and a bronze medal from the World Championships in Schladming, Val d’Isere and Vail Beaver Creek.
Gut is a determined racer that will fit well into the successful World Cup Rebels team: “I've never been as conscious as I am now that the only thing that really matters is what you're doing on the slope; motivation, preparation, calmness are factors that can help or stop you but the real moment, the one that matters, is when you're in the start gate and you can concentrate on all what you are and what you have done in your skiing,” Lara explains on her website.
