Marit Bjoergen has announced that she is set to become mother. As she told to the media in Hemsedal, the baby is due in December and Bjoergen is going to miss the upcoming winter. “I am very much looking forward to our baby", the six-time Olympic champion said.

Marit Bjoergen is going to take part in the team training camps as long as she can but will not push her body to the limit. Bjoergen’s teammates had been informed about the news two days ago. “I told them on Sunday, and they we’re very excited,” Bjoergen added.

Bjoergen’s plan is to come back to skiing in 2017. “If everything works well,” she claimed.
