Graabak still impeded by injury
Everything was looking great for Olympic Champion Jørgen Graabak when he finally took that long-overdue World Cup victory in Val di Fiemme right before the World Championships in Falun but in fact, things were everything but perfect for the 24-year-old. For quite some time, Graabak had been able to keep an injury in his thigh muscles at bay but right before the World Championships, the thigh began acting up again, leading Graabak to end his season right after the World Championships.

Since then, Graabak has been through a lot of tests and studies and had to miss large parts of the season preparation due to the still acute injury.

„The results are not optimal. The prognoses say that I will be fully in training again in September, at the earliest. This means a break due to injury of six months. It goes without saying that this is a tough situation but it is reality. The only thing I can do is to work my utmost each and every day to come came“, Graabak says.

Sports Director Sverre Rotevatn feels for Graabak but hopes that he can come back to training full tilt in the fall. „The most important thing now is to get Jørgen 100% free of injury and that he can come back to training fully. Jørgen is the athlete of the national team who has trained the most in the last years, so he has a very solid training base. A base like that is good to have in a situation like this.“
