Park City hosts World Championship
Park City, Utah will have two rather than three ski areas next winter and one of them will now be the biggest ski area in the USA.
Formed by the connection of two previously separate ski areas, Park City Mountain Resort and Canyons in a $50m project by owners Vail Resorts, it was announced the new combined area of 7,300 acres will be simply named ‘Park City’ – ending media speculation on what the new area would be called.
Park City will be staging the FIS Freestyle Ski and Snowboard World Championships in 2019, which will be the first staging of the joint event in the USA.
