Gold for Thomas Morgenstern
Also after the end of his career in ski jumping, Thomas Morgenstern still wants the challenge of a competition: He was recently participating in the 15th Helicopter World Championships in Poland.
And like already on the hills, the Austrian was also successful in the Championships held in Zielona Gora (POL) from August 12th - 16th.
Together with his co-pilot Philipp Koehle, Thomas Morgenstern scored 1061.1 of 1200 possible points and won the World Championship title in the Juniors category, for pilots with less than 250 hours of flying time.
"It's a great feeling! Taking part in World Championships as the first competition is not easy, especially because I didn't really know what to expect here. I must admit that I was pretty nervous before the first competition, but as soon as it started we were fully focused. I think we did a great job and I'm very satisfied with our performances in the different events", the 28-year-old 2006 Olympic Champion is quoted on laola1.at.
