Nick Fairall wants to ski jump again

Nine months after his fall in the qualification for the final event of the 4-Hills-Tournament in Bischofshofen, where he suffered a serious spinal injury, Nick Fairall continues to work towards his big goal in rehabilitation.

“My absolute main goal, focus, and desire is to ski jump again. It will always be on my mind, and I will always continue to work towards it", the American is quoted on the website of the High Fives Foundation, that helps athletes after life-altering injuries.

With the support of this non-profit organization, the 26-year-old was recently at the CR Johnson Healing Center in Truckee, CA. This facility provides resources for athletes recovering from severe injuries that include physical therapy, acupuncture, massage and personal training.

“It’s been a pleasure to have the opportunity to work with an Olympic caliber athlete like Nick. Nick and the other High Fives Athletes who have moved here recently really prove to me and to themselves that the work we do and the time and effort they put in pays off towards their recoveries, no matter their level of injury", said Jack Powell, personal trainer in California.

Also Roy Tuscany, executive director of the High Fives Foundation, was impressed by Nick Fairall. "Nick is so focused, so powerful. He’s also really fun to have around. His personality and attitude are the most important forces on his recovery.”
