Daniela Iraschko-Stolz received the "European Fair Play Award" of the "European Fair Play Movement in Baku.
At the World Cup competition in January in Sapporo, the overall World Cup winner lent her skis to the leader at that time, Spela Rogelj of Slovenia, who had technical problems with her equipment.
For this gesture she was now awarded in the capital of Azerbaijan. "Very proud and happy to gain "The European Fair Play Award" in Baku. That Prize means a lot to me, not just because of acting fair in a competition. It also feels like an Award for my life fighting for the rights in Women's ski jumping", the 31-year-old wrote on her Facebook page.
The Fair Play Award is given since 1996 and is under the patronage of the European Olympic Committee.
