Men’s Mogul Team Named National Ambassadors for Movember

The Canadian Freestyle Ski Men’s Mogul Team has been named official National Ambassadors by Movember for the 2015 fundraising campaign.

This will be the second consecutive year that the team has joined the cause with the goal of creating awareness for men’s health. However, this is the first year that they will serve as ambassadors.

“Over the years we’ve seen some epic moustaches on the slopes,” said Jesse Hayman, Director of Community Engagement, Movember Canada. “The Olympic community has always rallied behind Movember, and we’re excited to have the men’s mogul team help us power the moustache this Movember.”

The idea originally started with Philippe Marquis proposing it as a bonding experience for the team last year. The group was able to raise close to $2000.

“Joining a great cause, such as Movember, creates a clear bond between us,” said Marquis. “We can reach out to our communities across Canada while reaching out to other freestyle athlete from around the globe that might have suffered or encountered any type of men’s health issues. Being part of the movement as a team shows that we stand strong together like a family.”

“We were approached by Movember to be National Ambassadors to help create awareness for the cause,” said Kerrian Chunlaud. “It’s important to us to do our part because 1 in 8 men will be diagnosed with prostate cancer in their lifetime. This is our way of making a difference.”
