Domen Prevc not on the Slovenian team for Nizhny Tagil

The Slovenian team will take the trip to Nizhny Tagil (RUS) for the next World Cup competitions without rising star Domen Prevc.

The only 16-year-old was also not part of the team for the weekend in Kuusamo and will now get another break. "These trips are very exhausting, it's a long season. Domen will stay at home, go to school and train and shall recharge his batteries. He will be competing again in Engelberg", head coach Goran Janus is quoted on siol.net.

Domen Prevc, youngest brother of Peter, finished eighth twice and 12th in his three appearances in the World Cup so far. On Saturday in Lillehammer he was the best Slovene in a World Cup competition for the first time in his career, and so, for the first time, also better than his big brother. On Sunday he moved up from 19th to 12th with a strong final jump. "I'm very satisfied with his jumps, especially the second jump on Sunday was great", said Janus.

Damjan on the team

Instead of the youngster, Jernej Damjan will get the chance to participate in a World Cup for the first time this winter in Nizhny Tagil. Peter Prevc, Robert Kranjec, Jurij Tepes, Anze Lanisek and Anze Semenic will also be competing in Russia
