Due to a broken collarbone sustained in practice, Olympic slopestyle champion Jamie Anderson (USA) will be using the Christmas holidays to work on her comeback next year, according to Tahoe Daily Tribune.
The injury occurred while practicing in a Breckenridge terrain park leading up to the Dew Tour event which is currently underway.
Anderson is reported to have already undergone surgery.
In addition, the 25-year-old regular rider, who had a perfect start to the 2015-16 competition season by clinching the opening slopestyle World Cup in Cardrona, New Zealand, expects to be back to action next January.
“It’s super challenging to get hurt early season, but I’m thankful it’s a relatively quick recovery,” she explained in an interview with the newspaper.
While the Mammoth Grand Prix which is part of this year's World Cup tour seems to be too close to strap in again, Anderson's visit to the 2018 Olympic venue in PyeongChang for this season's third slopestyle World Cup contest staged next February is pretty likely.
