Kamil Stoch: "It's getting better with every jump"

For the Polish team the 2015/16 season has been a disappointment so far, also their top jumper Kamil Stoch is still struggling with his shape this winter.

He achieved his so far only Top 10 result in sixth in Nizhny Tagil, his best competition at the 4-Hills-Tournament was the one in Innsbruck last Sunday when he finished 16th.

"Generally, I do not think it’s that bad. Of course it could always be better. I have to admit I was expecting a little bit more from this year’s 4-Hills-Tournament", said Kamil Stoch. "We did have some difficulties in the past as well, when we had to work a bit harder, especially mentally, to fight back."

Despite the difficult situation for him this season, the 28-year-old is optimistic, that can get better in the near future. "The very beginning of the 4-Hills was especially difficult for me, but now I think that with each jump, each competition, it is getting better and better. My jumps show that, maybe not the results yet. But I feel good and I do not feel too much pressure about that either."

Kruczek: "These results are not what we expected"

After three of four competitions of the 4-Hills-Tournament, Kamil Stoch is the best Pole in 18th, in the overall World Cup the double Olympic champion is the best of his team in 20th. Stefan Hula, Maciej Kot, Piotr Zyla and Dawid Kubacki are currently 26th, 33rd, 39th and 42nd. For head coach Lukasz Kruczek this situation is definintely not satisfactory.

"This year’s 4-Hills-Tournament has been difficult for us from the very beginning, but the beginning of the season did not go according to our plans or expectations either. I have to admit that neither me nor the boys expected these kind of results. Going to Oberstdorf we knew that it will be tough and that we are not among the favorites. After Oberstdorf, which was extremely disappointing, it has been a little better, but of course our results are still far from the expected ones", said Kruczek.
