Award for Alexander Stoeckl

Huge honor for Alexander Stoeckl. The Austrian was voted "Coach of the Year" in Norway.

The 42-year-old lead the Norwegian ski jumpers to the second place in the Nation's Cup last season, only close behind Germany. At the World Championships in Falun in February, the Norwegians won four medals, among them gold with the team in the individual competition on the normal hill.

After the retirements of Anders Jacobsen and Anders Bardal, the new, young Norwegian team is also showing very good performances this season. Currently there are three jumpers in the Top 10 of the overall World Cup, Kenneth Gangnes closely missed the podium in the 4-Hills-Tournament and the team is second in the Nation's Cup right now.

Because Alexander Stoeckl is at the World Cup in Willingen, Anders Bardal accepted the award for the coach at the gala in Lillehammer. "He is a fantastic coach, the world's best ski jumping coach", said the former overall World Cup winner.
