Green light for Alpine World Cup events in Korea

After much speculation, the green light was given today for the Audi FIS Ski World Cup race in Jeongseon (KOR). Guenter Hujara gave the positive snow control earlier today after he inspected the full downhill course, including the newly constructed gondola, and declared everything to be fully operational and ready for the upcoming men’s downhill and super-G World Cup races there on 6th and 7th February.

"The slope is ready and snow conditions on the hill are great; there is enough snow prepared to very high standards. I highly respect the tremendous efforts of the Organisers, especially over the past two months. Achievements in this period have been remarkable and I have no doubt that athletes will enjoy the excellent course here at Jeongseon," commented Hujara.

The races are serving as the first official Test Event for the PyeongChang 2018 Olympic Winter Games.
