Håvard Klemetsen „Winner of the Day“ in Seefeld
The strongest jumping performance of 124.7 points with a jump of 102 metres brought Norway’s Håvard Klemetsen the win in today’s jumping round in Seefeld. The win came with an extra prize money of 500 € donated by Hotel Habhof Mösern, a longstanding team hotel during the TRIPLE in Seefeld. Just 0.3 points behind Klemetsen, Austrian local hero Bernhard Gruber claimed the second place with a jump of 102.5 metres. The third rank went to Eric Frenzel who jumped 100.5 metres (123.8 p.).

The longest jump of the day was made by Austrian Mario Seidl who landed at 104 metres, with a total of 122 points this meant the eighth position today. Fabian Steindl, Marjan Jelenko, Jan Schmid and Akito Watabe claimed positions four till seven.

Should the PCR have to be used in case of adverse weather condition, the starting field for the cross-country event is grouped quite closely together. Gruber has one second to make up on leader Klemetsen, Frenzel follows four seconds behind and the whole group of the Top Ten starts within 12 seconds. In total, 30 athletes would start within the first minute of the race. As this was not a qualification, all athletes are allowed to start on the first day of the TRIPLE as per the rules.

Five athletes were disqualified during today’s PCR due to non rule-conforming jumping suits. Laurent Muhlethaler, Kristjan Ilves, Yoshito Watabe, Mikko Kokslien and Jarl Riiber are allowed to start tomorrow as this was not a qualification in case the PCR has to be used during the weekend, they would be out of the competition as they don’t have a result from today’s event due to the disqualification.
