Lukas Mueller, who sustained a severe back injury in a crash at the Ski Flying World Championships in Bad Mitterndorf (AUT), is currently still hospitalized in Graz.
The 23-year-old will continue the treatment there until he can start his rehabilitation program in the rehabilitations center in Bad Haering (AUT).
"I'm totally motivated to make the best of my difficult situation. I could already make some progress together with my therapists, even if I know that many small steps will still be necessary. Although I can't move my legs, I can feel them. This, and the incredible support I got, gives me a lot of confidence. Now I can hardly wait to start the actual rehabilitation. At the moment I'm still lacking the necessary strength for that, but I'm optimistic, also because it's getting better every day", told the Austrian.
Already a few days ago Lukas Mueller thanked everybody for the support with a post on his Facebook page. "Your support, thousands of postings and personal messages have not just been completely overwhelming, but also so highly motivating. I sincerely hope you guys keep the support in such a lovely and mesmerizing way. You are the main resource to summon up all my vitalizing power."
A donation account has been set up to help Lukas and his family. Further information can be found on his website lukas-mueller.at
