Marco Pichlmayer ends his career
After 10 years on the World and Continental Cup tours, Austria’s Marco Pichlmayer has ended his career. His career best performance was a sixth rank in Chaux-Neuve in 2009, two third ranks in team competitions in Oberstdorf 2014 and Schonach 2010 as well as Junior World Championship gold and silver in Tarvis in 2007. Pichlmayer’s last Nordic Combined competitions were the Continental Cup events in PyeongChang which he finished on the second and third ranks.

„This is a good point to close the chapter of high performance sports. I have always given my best and so it’s with an easy mind that I start into a new chapter in my life. I had great years in which I was able to experience and learn much. I’m not decided on where my path will lead to now. I was able to finish my education as a customs officer during my active career. I will also finish my certification as a coach in April which is something I would also like to do“, Pichlmayer said during the TRIPLE weekend in Seefeld where he was on location to cheer on his former teammates.
