This Sunday's final alpine snowboard World Cup race will not only close the 2015-16 season but also mark a special date for Hilde Katrine Engeli as the sole Norwegian carving specialist on tour will compete in her last race.
The 27-year-old from Dombaas just confirmed yesterday that she will chuck competitive snowboarding in with the psl finals at Winterberg, Germany being the perfect wrap up of her career of then 91 World Cup starts.
Last season, Engeli was able to triumph on the Poppenberg slope edging off local favourite Selina Joerg to the second rank. It was her career's second win.
By now, the regular rider is looking back on two podium finishes on the World Cup tour of which both were wins.
However, the 2014 Olympian career's biggest moment dates back five years when Engeli surprised herself and the world claiming the parallel slalom world championships title in La Molina, Spain in 2011.
