Austria’s Alexander Brandner ends his career
After nine years as a Nordic Combined athlete, Austrian B-team athlete Alexander Brandner has chosen to end his career. He had been competing on the Continental Cup tour and his career highlight include the team gold at the Junior World Championships in Erzurum, Turkey in 2010 and a Continental Cup victory in Ruka in 2014.
„I have tried my utmost to work my way up into the world’s elite in the past few years but unfortunately it has not been enough, the ski jumping part was and stayed my weak point. Still, I cannot blame myself for not having tried everything. It has been nice years full of learning and I would like to thank all my partners, sponsors and supporters.“
Brandner will now be pursuing his education as a physiotherapist and would like to stay involved in sports in the future.
