Emily Aubry has announced her career's end 13 days after her 26th birthday on her website today.
The Swiss A-team athlete is reported in an additional media release sent out by her federation of being “not willing to take the risk of injuries anymore.“
According to her website, it's been a decision she took after mature deliberation.
“I have had wonderful times with unforgettable moments and experiences. I was lucky to travel the world and to meet different people and cultures.
I might call it a quit career-wise but I won't give up snowboarding at all,” she posted before thanking family, coaches, team stuff and friends for a great time on tour.
The three-time national champion has been competing on the World Cup circuit since October 2005 when she debuted in the Saas-Fee halfpipe event.
Since 2009 and solely focusing on boarder cross, Aubry completed seven full seasons on tour bringing home seven top-10 finishes in a total of 51 starts.
In addition, the goofy rider who is also an highly-respected football referee represented her home country at three different world championships whilst earning bronze at the 2010 junior worlds in New Zealand, just one year after winning the Europa Cup sbx title.
