A new ski jumping center in Kandesteg (SUI) will celebrate its opening three months from now.
After two years of construction, the athletes will then have the opportunity to train on three hills (HS 106, HS 72, HS 27), which comply to the latest standards of the International Ski Federation (FIS), all year long.
In the future regional, national and international competitions can be held in the new "Nordic Arena", that will be inaugurated on July 31st and August 1st.
First, young athletes will get the chance to show their skills during this opening on July 31st, before local hero Simon Ammann and other top athletes will compete in the first international competition on this new facility a day later.
In addition, a podium discussion, autograph signings, guided tours of the ski jumping hills and an opening party will take place on these two days.
