

The U.S. Ski and Snowboard Association (USSA) held its annual Congress in Park City (USA) from 11th-15th May 2016.
Besides meetings of its various Committees and Sub-Committees, USSA presented its redefined mission and vision statement:
“To lead, encourage and support athletes in achieving excellence by empowering national teams, clubs, coaches, parents, officials, volunteers and fans.”

Winners of Annual Awards announced
At the annual Chairman’s Awards Dinner during the Congress week, USSA recognised accomplished athletes, coaches and leaders.
Jessie Diggins received the Beck International Award for her performance in international competition. Diggins had a breakthrough season on the FIS Cross-Country World Cup presented by Viessmann. She earned seven podiums, including her first individual win, leading the ladies’ cross-country ski team to one of its best seasons ever.
Meanwhile, Bob Dart, former Chairman of FIS’ Sub-Committees for Alpine Intercontinental Cups and the Nor-Am Cup who passed away in November 2015, was honoured with the Julius Blegen Award. The Award is the organisations’ highest honour, presented to a USSA member who contributed his or her outstanding service to the sports of skiing or snowboarding in the United States.
