Daniel Andre Tande sidelined for several weeks

Daniel Andre Tande will not be able to jump for a couple of weeks due to a stress fracture in his leg.

"Six weeks without jumping and strength training. Maybe I can still jump in the summer season, but it's better to be injured now than in winter", the Norwegian said to the news agency NTB.

But the seventh of last season's overall World Cup is still able to do some lighter exercises. "I have to know when to take it easy, before I feel the pain. I can't push myself to hard and I have to get to know my body better. I still feel some pain, but it's getting better every week", told the 22-year-old.

Daniel Andre Tande might be able to compete again on time for the FIS Grand Prix event in Hakuba (JPN) late August.

After Kenneth Gangnes, who tore his ACL early June, Tande is already the second of the top Norwegian jumpers who is struggling with injury this summer.
