On 13th July 2016, the FIS Development Programme South America Training Camp got off to a positive start in El Colorado (CHI).
13 athletes from Argentina, Chile and Georgia will be training with experienced coached until 1stAugust to prepare for the upcoming season. The programme involves intensive on-snow training and dryland sessions to help improve the skills of all the participants.
Towards the end of the camp the athletes will be able to showcase what they have learned by participating in the FIS Races in El Colorado where two FIS giant slalom competitions for each gender will be held from 28th-29th July.
Camp Coordinator Markus Malsiner reported: “Since the start of the camp the athletes have been able to work and train a great deal in excellent snow conditions. The camp was originally planned in Cerro Castor (ARG) but due to lack of snow, it was moved to El Colorado. Thanks to the excellent support from the Chilean Ski and Snowboard Federation it was possible to find such a short-time solution.”
