Italy's Federico Pellegrino the 2015-16 overall FIS World Cup sprint champion expects that he will be able to start his World Cup season in Ruka, Finland next week. After injuring an adductor muscle on his left leg, his season start had been in doubt. But following an intensive period of treatment and a solid 3 days of extra training in Davos he has shown positive signs of recovery.
"This little mishap has certainly made me lose a little bit in terms of training, but the important thing is to return in the best possible way. I will have time to make up for lost time in the future. Of course I do not feel 100% at the moment, but I have managed to do good laps on the track, alternating with the treatments. On Thursday I will have an ultrasound, and I am very confident of being present in the Ruka sprint, where finally we will have a comparison with the competition.
