14^th November 2016 marked 100 days until the start of the FIS Nordic World Ski Championships in Lahti (FIN) which will open on 22^nd February 2017. The Organisers are making their final plans and preparations for the Championships which will include 12 days of excitement, featuring 21 medal events. More than 700 athletes from 60 countries are expected to compete and 65,000 tickets have already been sold (click here for ticket information).

The additional dimension which will make the event unique next year is the 100^th anniversary of the independence of Finland. The FIS Nordic World Ski Championships are designated as the first official celebration of the centenary.
