Exemplary effort by Canadian women's team
After Central Europe, now also the Canadian province of Alberta was struck by major floods. Especially affected was the region around Calgary, the Olympic city of 1988.
The Canadian women's national team now helped with the cleanup in Bragg Creek, a small town near Calgary.
Together with other volunteers, Atsuko Tanaka, Alexandra Pretorius, Taylor Henrich, Charlotte Mitchell and their coach Gregor Linsig helped to get all the mud out of a basement of 1200 square feet for eight hours.
All day long they shoveled mud and hauled buckets outside and also removed side paneling, drywall and insulation. With this effort they helped to save one home of over 100 000 that are affected.
