Thomas Morgenstern: "Every jump is like a competition"
So far Thomas Morgenstern hasn't officially announced a decision whether he will continue or end his career, but currently the Austrian is working hard to return to the World Cup again next winter.

"The goal is that one day the question whether I'll continue or not does not arise anymore. That I'm simply ready for it again. Right now everything is still very exhausting. Every jump is like a competition", the 27-year-old told the Austrian newspaper "Kronen Zeitung".

After his serious fall at the ski flying in Bad Mitterndorf last January the Austrian was able to compete in the Winter Olympics in Sochi about a month later, but he ended the season immediately after the Games. In July the 2006 Olympic Champion made his first training jumps on the normal hill, mid August he started jumping on a large hill again.

"I'm feeling pretty well again on a normal hill. But since the fall I made only four jumps on a large hill. And of course I only jump on facilities where there is no danger at all concerning the wind conditions. But when I'm up there I still have the jitters. A lot can happen when something goes wrong", the Carinthian is quoted on krone.at.

Despite these concerns, the fans might still get the chance to see Thomas Morgenstern compete this summer. In an interview with FIS Ski Jumping during the FIS Grand Prix in Wisla, he didn't rule out the possibility for him to participate in this summer's final two Grand Prix competitions in Hinzenbach (Sept. 28th) and Klingenthal (Oct. 4th).
