Klingenthal: "World Cup is 100 % certain"
The final of the FIS Grand Prix 2014 is barely over and now the organizers are already focusing on the World Cup opener late November.
"The World Cup is 100 % certain. We applied for this event because we absolutely want to host it. And if we apply for something, this event will definitely take place." That's the strong statement of the organizing committee.
A possible lack of snow this early in the winter shall also not pose a problem, even if there was no snow depot set up this time, like it was done in 2013. "This was not possible due to the weather conditions. But if plan A is not working, you need to have a plan B or C. We are currently in contact with a Finnish company and we already reviewed the technique on location. Our priorities are the financing and the enviromental impact. If the weather conditions will now allow normal snow production, these two factors are given", said Alexander Ziron, head of the organizing committee.
