Meeting with newly appointed POCOG President
On Monday 6th October, FIS President Gian Franco Kasper and Secretary General Sarah Lewis met with Yangho Cho, the newly appointed President of the PyeongChang 2018 Organising Committee (POCOG) for the Olympic Winter Games. He was accompanied by Yongsoon Kim, Chief of Staff and Byungnam Lee, Director General, Games Planning & Management Coordination.
During a two hour meeting in Zurich, the discussions mainly focused on key aspects of the preparations for the Games, especially the Jeongseon Alpine Skiing downhill course and the plans for the Nordic and Freestyle Skiing-Snowboard Venues, as well as the appointment of experienced experts to support POCOG.

At the FIS Technical Committee Meetings a few days earlier, the POCOG Sport Managers met with the FIS Race Directors and other appointed Officials and attended workshops for Organisers in different FIS disciplines, alongside presenting their status reports to various FIS Committees. In a few weeks key persons from POCOG will meet all the International Winter Sports Federations at the International Federation (IF) Forum in Lausanne. This will be followed shortly afterwards by the IOC Coordination Commission in PyeongChang at the end of November.
