Phillip Sjoeen will not compete in Lillehammer
Phillip Sjoeen still has to wait for his comeback after his fall in the World Cup opening in Lillehammer and will also miss the next two competitions this weekend in Lillehammer.
The doctors advised the youngster, who didn't jump since Klingenthal, to wait one more week. This means that 18-year-old might be able to return to the World Cup for the events in Nizhniy Tagil (RUS) next week.
A total of 12 Norwegian jumpers will get the chance to show their skills in front of the home crowd in Lillehammer this weekend. Besides the World Cup team with Anders Bardal, Anders Fannemel, Rune Velta, Tom Hilde, Anders Jacobsen and Joachim Hauer, a national group was also named. In this group are Andreas Stjernen, Daniel-Andre Tande, Kenneth Gangnes, Espen Enger Halvorsen, Robert Johansson and Johann Andre Forfang.
"I would like to see that as many members of the national group as possible qualify for the final round", head coach Alexander Stoeckl is quoted on skiforbundet.no. After Saturday's competition it will be decided whether this national group will also take part on Sunday, or if the opportunity to use it a second time will be saved for later this season, when there are events in Vikersund, Trondheim or Oslo.
Both hills in Lillehammer are already perfectly prepared and the athletes have the chance to train there on Wednesday.
