Construction at the "Kulm"-hill completed
After eight months the construction works at the "Kulm"-ski flying hill in Bad Mitterndorf were now completed right on time for the start of the winter.

The first jumps on the new facility shall be made on January 8th. From January 9th to 11th, the organizers then hope for three spectacular days of ski flying. "It will be gigantic! The new Kulm makes the dream of flying come true. The Kulm is dedicated to enthusing the people. Ski jumping is a synonym for the fact that man can fly. We expect a total of 80 000 fans to attend the events. I think that the new dimensions of ski flying, which are possible after the reconstruction, will fascinate the people", said Hubert Neuper, head of the Organizing Committee.

During this reconstruction, that cost 4.2 million Euro and became necessary because the hill certificate of the International Ski Federation (FIS) was not valid anymore, the take-off table was moved back and the profile was adjusted to modern requirements. The hill now has a hill-size of 225 (K-Point: 200) and flights of around 230 m shall be possible. So far the hill record, held by Gregor Schlierenzauer, is at 215.5 m.

The final test for the Ski Flying World Championships 2016 will start with the training and qualification on Friday, January 9th. Two individual competitions will then be held on Saturday and Sunday (January 10th and 11th).
