On the 8th day of building the biggest World Cup big air ramp in history, the scaffolding has finally reached its highest part forcing the workers to follow a tradition of hoisting the Turkish flag.

Riders will go down from the start house located at 41 metres, with the roof of the start house at 44 metres.

As a result, the structure is by far the biggest stand alone structure ever built in Turkey.

No wonder that the people from Istanbul are excited and look forward to watching some of the finest snowboarders perform their tricks on Saturday December 20th.

On Thursday, the Dutch company Polar Technologies will produce 280 tons of snow in order to be ready for training on Friday. During the night, another 70 tons will be made to have perfect conditions for the competition on Saturday. This is also the biggest amount of snow ever produced on a World Cup big air ramp.

Istanbul is the 5th biggest city in the world. The campus of the Istanbul Technical University alone, where the hosting stadium is located, hosts 25.000 students.
