Goran Janus sets modest goals
The Slovenian team for the 4-Hills-Tournament was announced at a press conference in Planica earlier this week.

Peter Prevc, Jernej Damjan, Robert Kranjec, Matjaz Pungertar, Nejc Dezman and Anze Lanisek are on the team of head coach Goran Janus. Jurij Tepes will not compete in the 4-Hills-Tournament, he will be on the Slovenian team again for the ski flying event in Bad Mitterndorf.

"At this point, before the start of the 4-Hills, we never had so many points in the Nation's cup. I'm happy that so many guys are able to reach the final round. At the 4-Hills-Tournament we want to have one in the Top 10 and one in the Top 15 in every competition. Of course, many say that these goals are too low, but there is the K.O. System, it will be exciting competitions and there are many favorites. I hope that we can be among them, everything is open. The most important things is that we enjoy it."

Many consider Peter Prevc, fifth and 12th at the weekend in Engelberg, one of the favorites for the 4-Hills-Tournament, he still sees room for improvement. "In the last competition things didn't go as planned. Somehow I didn't do, what I should. It's good that we have some time to train before the 4-Hills."

With a third and a fourth place, Jernej Damjan was the best Slovene in Switzerland and he will start the 4-Hills-Tournament in top shape. "At the moment I feel good and at the hill everything goes the way I want it. But this was just one weekend, the season is still long. I know, that there's a lot of work to do. Every competition is different, but I hope that I'll have many good weekends ahead of me."

For Robert Kranjec, the K.O. System at the 4-Hills-Tournament can be an advantage to show an even better performance. "The different format sometimes helps to kick it up a few notches. You need a good jump, no matter who your opponent is in the duel", said the 33-year-old, who doesn't want to look to far ahead. "The goal now is the 4-Hills-Tournament, I'll think about ski flying after that."
