Broken thumb for Prommegger
Austrian raceboarder and 2015 WCS medal hope Andreas Prommegger has broken his left thumb while training on the race hill for the up-coming World Championships in Lachtal, Austria last week.
The 34-year-old already underwent some treatment and has to wear a plaster case to immobilise the injured limb.
“I caught a stubby in a training run. This is how it happened,” Prommegger explained.
“Doctors also thought about a surgery but this would have meant that I would miss the World Championships. But I'm willing to do everything I can in order to be fit and ready for the World Champs on home soil.”
However, it's anybody's guess right now if the two-time Overall World Cup title winner will be able to start at the last races prior to the major event.
In Bad Gastein, close to where Prommegger comes from, two parallel slaloms (single and team) are scheduled for January 9th and 10th.
