No snow, No problem in Peru
For the upcoming edition of World Snow Day, three new nations will join the fun. One of these is Peru.

In keeping with the World Snow Day tradition of creativity and innovation, the Organiser will overcome the challenge of limited snow by showing children skiing and snowboarding on sand atClub Peruano SandSnow Arena, based in Oasis Huacachina.

Martin Guerra Heredia and his team have been working with local children to give them an opportunity to use the sand dunes while learning about the dunes’ importance to the natural environment.

Since opening its doors, more than 300 children have had the opportunity to try snowboarding and skiing on the dunes. Through a partnership with a sports store in Verbier (SUI) the Organisers have obtained second hand equipment for the children.

For the upcoming edition of World Snow Day Club Peruano Sand Snow Arena will provide free lessons for local children. Following the event the club has also aligned with FIS SnowKidz and will be providing weekly lessons for the children in the neighbourhood.
