Back to start: Katrin Mueller abandons season
Due to continuing problems with her right knee (cartilage) which Katrin Mueller injured last season, the 25-year-old athlete from Switzerland decided to take it easy and cut her season short.
As a result, going one step back might be the chance for a brighter future as her knee – right now – doesn't cope with the physiological stress which comes along with ski cross racing.
“It's been a hard decision”, the National Member said.
But together with the medical staff Mueller agreed on calling the young season already a wrap.
“I take it as a chance to come back stronger next season as I will have the chance for the first time since three years to undergo a full summer training.”
For the good of her health and a better chance for Pyongyang 2018 Mueller will give her knee the rest it needs to fully recover first.
A reasonable concept as she already couldn't finish the last season due to the same knee problems which sideline her from action again.
