Kamil Stoch "Athlete of the Year" in Poland
The year 2014 will be remembered as one of the most successful years in the history of Polish sports. In Sochi, Poland has won a record of six Olympic medals. The annual vote for the "Athlete of the Year" was a tough competition between Olympic medallists and numerous world champions. It came as no surprise though, that Kamil Stoch was voted "Athlete of the Year 2014".

In the season 2013/14 Kamil Stoch won two Olympic Gold medals at the Sochi Olympics, together with his team mates he finished fourth in the Olympic team event, the best result Poland had ever achieved. He won six World Cup competitions, was on the World Cup podium 13 times. Stoch won the overall World Cup title ahead of Slovene Peter Prevc and German Severin Freund.

Kamil Stoch won ahead of Mariusz Wlazly, Polish volleyball player, member of the victorious team from the Volleyball World Championships, Michal Kwiatkowski, UCI Road World Champion, came in third. Two other Olympic Champions from Sochi were fourth and fifth – cross country skier Justyna Kowalczyk (winner of the previous five votes) and speed skater Zbigniew Brodka.

Kruczek voted coach of the year

The title of "Coach of the Year" went to Lukasz Kruczek, head coach of the Polish national ski umping team and French Stephane Antiga, coach of the Polish national volleyball team.
