Spinal disc herniation for Benjamin Karl
Reigning PGS world champion Benjamin Karl (AUT) wrote on his online blog that he recently got a frustrating MRI result. The doctors diagnosed a spinal disc herniation, the reason for his problems in his left foot he suffered over the past weeks.

“I knew that something was wrong because I didn't feel my toes anymore”, he said.

Although it might sound bad the four-time world champion was able to calm his fans as the 2014 Olympic Bronze medallist will start at the Kreischberg World Championships.

“I will participate for sure. By now, we will try to handle the pain with physiotherapy and pain killers. Then it's time to take it as a man. I'm still optimistic and convinced that I will do well at the worlds on home soil.”

Since 2009, Karl took home at least one Gold medal at world championships.
