Injury news after Cortina and Wengen
In the challenging ladies' super-G race on Monday, 19 racers didn't cross the finish line. Among them Italy's Daniela Merighetti, Switzerland's Dominique Gisin and France's Marion Rolland unfortunately suffered injuries in high speed crashes.

Merighetti had high hopes in the super-G after finishing third in the downhill on Sunday. She lost control and was unlucky to crash into a gate mid-course, breaking some teeth and her jaw, as she explained on her Instagram account.

The 33-year-old Italian will probably not travel to St. Moritz for the next speed races and her participation in the upcoming Vail Beaver Creek World Championships is yet to be assessed.

Dominique Gisin might not be racing at the FIS Alpine Wolrd Ski Championships either. After her spectacular crash, the Olympic downhill champion underwent medical examinations in Zurich, which revealed a tibial head fracture in the right leg. Such an injury normally means a 6 to 8 week recovery time.

Reigning downhill world champion, Marion Rolland crashed into the nets and picked up a knee injury. She was transferred to France for further medical examinations. The 32-year-old had just made her comeback onto the World Cup after recovering from an ACL injury.

On the men's circuit, eight racers didn’t manage to make it through the finish line in Sunday’s downhill race in Wengen.

While most got up and left the race slope unharmed, Italian Peter Fill Fill was not as lucky and suffered a shoulder injury during his fall. A CT and MRI scan confirmed the Italian suffered a compound fracture to the left shoulder. Since the diagnosis, Fill and the F.I.S.I medical commission have been evaluating how to best proceed with treatment, especially taking into consideration the World Championships.
