Injury updates from the 2015 FIS Alpine World Ski Championships
Olympic champion Bode Miller suffered a torn hamstring tendon from a lower leg laceration as a result of crashing 59 seconds into the men’s super G in Beaver Creek. According to U.S. Ski Team Medical Director Kyle Wilkens, Miller underwent successful surgery at Vail Valley Medical Center with Dr. Randy Viola and Dr. Tom Hackett. He was released following surgery. The injury will keep him out of the Championships.

Miller crashed while leading the super G. He skied down on his own and was treated in the finish area for a lower right leg laceration. He then went to Vail Valley Medical Center for further evaluation and surgery.

At the same race, Norwegian Kjetil Jansrud hooked a gate and injured his shoulder. He was taken to the Vail Valley Medical Center in Vail for an examination and the shoulder appears to be OK, but he is in pain. The team is hopeful that he will be able to participate in Saturday’s World Championships downhill.

Stacey Cook was medically cleared to race Friday's downhill after suffering a left arm contusion and a sprained right thumb when she crashed in downhill training Thursday. She was evaluated at Vail Valley Medical Center and released. She will go onto the start list for Friday’s World Championship Downhill.
