Anders Bardal on the team for Falun 2015
Six ski jumpers are on the Norwegian team of head coach Alexander Stoeckl for the upcoming World Championships in Falun, among them also the currently injured Anders Bardal.
The 32-year-old defending chamion in the normal hill ocmpetition suffered a fracture of his left wrist when he fell in Wisla mid January and had to undergo surgery. The veteran shall now be fit again for the start of the WSC next week.
Besides Anders Bardal, also Anders Fannemel, who won the competition in Titisee-Neustadt last Sunday, Anders Jacobsen, Rune Velta, Junior World Champion Johann Andre Forfang and Phillip Sjoeen were named to the team for the Championships in Sweden. This means that Tom Hilde, who also missed the Olympic Games in Sochi last winter, will again not be on the Norwegian team.
"We are going to the World Championships with the best team in a long time, we are in a strong position in all competitions. The World Championships in Falun are a major highlight for us and we are looking forward to it. With Anders Bardal we will also have a defending champion for the first time in many years. Our goal is to fight for the medals in all of the events", sports director Clas Brede Brathen is quoted on skiforbundet.no.
The Norwegian ladies' team for Falun will consist of Line Jahr, Maren Lundby, Gyda Enger and Anna Odine Stroem.
